Riverside “Raincross” Streetlight Kit – O Gauge

This listing is for an O-gauge streetlight kit inspired by Riverside, California’s iconic Raincross streetlights. The Raincross is a long-standing civic symbol of Riverside, and the streetlights that feature it are a very distinctive and memorable design — truly one of a kind and unique to Riverside.

These lights are instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with the city and are unlike streetlight designs used anywhere else in the country. They’re especially well suited for vintage, postwar, and mid-century street scenes and look right at home alongside Cinder Streets roads and sidewalks.

This is a kit, but one of the more difficult steps is already done for you. The wiring is pre-routed through the lamp head, so assembly is straightforward.

Assembly required (super glue needed)

The included resistor is set up for a standard 12-volt layout streetlight application. The LED itself can be used with other voltages as well — you’ll simply need to use the appropriate resistor value for your setup.

Optional base available:

Optional base and transformer available separately

Allows the light to be used as a desk light or nightlight

Plugs directly into standard household power when used with the base

Why these are special to me:
Before making model streetlights, I worked as an electrical contractor and was directly involved with the installation of these Raincross streetlights for the City of Riverside, including along the Mission Viaduct. That firsthand experience with the real fixtures is what led me to recreate them accurately for my own layout — and ultimately to offer them here.
