This listing is for a realistic O-gauge wooden street signpost modeled after the simple 4x4 street signs commonly used in American towns during the 1940s and 1950s. A plain wooden post set in the ground with the street name stenciled directly on the side — no metal signs, no brackets, just the way streets were marked before modern signage took over.
These wooden posts were phased out in the early-to-mid 1960s, making them a perfect fit for postwar and vintage layouts. They look especially right alongside postwar Lionel trains and classic town scenes.
The proportions are properly scaled for O gauge and are designed to look correct on Cinder Streets layouts, matching street widths, sidewalks, and overall scene scale.
