O-Gauge Vintage \"Slider-Style\" Soda Machine
By Cinder Shops
Bring the nostalgic \"ice-cold\" feel of a mid-century service station to your O-gauge layout. This 3D-printed model is a tribute to the classic top-loading slider machines that once sat outside every station and country store.

A Story from the Station: The Great Soda Siphon
Back in the day, these machines were the gold standard for a cold drink. They were \"mechanical marvels\"—you\'d open the top lid, slide your bottle along a series of tracks to the \"launch group,\" drop your dime in, and pull it out.

I remember a story about one kid who worked at a station (I didn\'t know him personally, but the legend lived on). He was apparently too cheap to spend his $1.00-an-hour wage on a dime soda, so he’d take a pair of channel locks, pop the cap off a bottle while it was still in the rack, and use a piece of new fuel line to drink the soda right out of the machine! The boss would come in the next morning to find nothing but empty bottles still sitting in the tracks.

The boss had his own tricks, too—he’d open the side of the machine and store his lunch down in the bottom under the bottle racks. Those machines kept everything so cold they were nearly frozen!

Product Features
Authentic Detail: Features the top-loading lid and side-access coin return details.

True 1:48 Proportional Scaling: Designed to look like a real machine, not a blocky toy.

Labeling Survival Guide: Required Tools
I provide the labels as a courtesy, but you provide the labor! To properly apply these tiny decals, I recommend having the following on your workbench:

A very sharp hobby blade (like an X-Acto).

Fine-point tweezers.

A steady hand and plenty of patience.

A dedicated \"Swear Jar\" (Empty at the start).

A couple of rolls of quarters.

A medium-size box of Band-Aids.

A jar of Mercurochrome.

Note: These details are small, and I am not responsible for any fingers nicked during the cutting process!
